Webinar on Scientific Thesis Writing Training for Students Using Artificial Intelligence (AI)

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, a webinar entitled “Guest Lecture: Scientific Thesis Writing Training for Students Using Artificial Intelligence (AI)” was successfully held via Zoom Meeting from 09.00 to 11.20 a.m. (WIB). The event was moderated by Imam Bagus Pamungkas, a 2023 student of Islamic Education Management, and officially opened with welcoming remarks by Mrs. Siti Nur Hidayah, S.Th.I., M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of the Islamic Education Management Study Program.

The main speaker, Mr. Arya Luthfi Permadi, M.Si., delivered a comprehensive presentation on the utilization of AI in academic writing, covering key aspects such as literature searching, data analysis, and the ethical use of AI tools.

The training emphasized the practical use of several AI applications, including ChatGPT for brainstorming and proofreading, Gemini for data analysis, Mendeley for reference management, as well as Scopus and Scite as platforms for finding and validating scientific literature. The event was attended by 41 participants, consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Islamic Education Management Program, as well as public participants who actively engaged in the discussion session.

Through this activity, participants were expected to understand the fundamental concepts of AI in thesis writing, develop the ability to use popular AI tools to support their research, and recognize the importance of validation and ethical considerations in AI usage to maintain originality and accountability in research outcomes.

The webinar successfully provided valuable insights and practical skills to encourage the effective and efficient use of AI technology in academic writing. In conclusion, it was emphasized that AI serves as a supporting tool in the writing process, not as a replacement for the author, and therefore, its use must align with the students’ needs, creativity, and commitment to producing authentic and high-quality scientific works.
