Focus Group Discussion on the Formulation of Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives of the Faculty and Study Programs, as well as the Research and Community Service Roadmaps

Yogyakarta – The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the formulation of the Faculty’s and Study Programs’ Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO), as well as the Research and Community Service Roadmaps. The strategic event took place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Grand Rohan Hotel, Yogyakarta.

The discussion brought together all members of the faculty leadership, including the dean’s office, heads and secretaries of study programs, and the VMGO review team. Also in attendance were representatives of alumni, students, and external stakeholders who serve as graduate users. Their presence reflected a shared commitment to developing an integrated academic direction and strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of higher education at FITK UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

In his opening remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Prof. Dr. Sigit Purnama, S.Pd.I., M.Pd., emphasized that this activity serves as an important momentum to reaffirm the faculty’s vision and identity amidst the rapid changes in higher education.

Throughout the FGD, participants actively shared insights and constructive feedback regarding the draft of the faculty and study programs’ VMGO and roadmap development. The discussion highlighted the importance of cross-program collaboration and thematic alignment in research and community service activities to enhance academic excellence and social impact.

The outcomes of this FGD will serve as the basis for finalizing the official VMGO documents of the Faculty and its study programs, as well as for strengthening FITK’s Research and Community Service Roadmaps—both of which are designed to promote quality, innovation, and competitiveness at national and international levels.
