Guest lecture with PPMPI Indonesia, June 25, 2022
Saturday, June 25, 2022, The Bachelor of Islamic Education Management (IEM) Programme, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, gave a guest lecture with the theme "LEADERSHIP ROLE IN ACHIEVE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs) 2030". The purpose of the guest lecture is to provide insight into how leadership plays a role in realizing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to students of the IEM Programme, especially the 2020 and 2021 classes. Sri Rahmi, M.A., (Chairman of PPMPI Indonesia who is also a postgraduate lecturer at UIN ar-Raniry Aceh) and Dr Feiby Ismail, M.Pd. (General Treasurer of PPMPI Indonesia, also WD III IAIN Manado).
This guest lecture event began with an opening by Zahro Ulfaturohmatirinin, a class of 2020 IEM students; The purpose of the guest lecture is to provide insight into how leadership plays a role in realizing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to students of the Islamic Education Management study program, especially the 2020 and 2021 classes. Sri Rahmi, M.A., (Chairman of PPMPI Indonesia who is also a postgraduate lecturer at UIN ar-Raniry Aceh) and Dr Feiby Ismail, M.Pd. (General Treasurer of PPMPI Indonesia, also WD III IAIN Manado) well as the Campus Ambassador of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga 2021 Master of Ceremony. And then followed with the reading of the holy passages of the Qur'an by Nova Andreyan (IEM 2021 student), singing the song Indonesia Raya, the Hymn of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and Mars IEM. After that, the Keynote Speaker from Mr Dr Zainal Arifin, M.S.I., is the Chair of The Bachelor of Islamic Education Management (IEM) Programme at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and the Secretary General of the Indonesian PPMPI.
Dr Sri Rahmi, M.A., discussed the importance of leadership. She stated that leadership involves being a servant. A leader must be willing to serve the others around her. In addition, She said that IEM students must grasp and comprehend content about study programs such as archive management, administration, curriculum, and leadership, among others. Do not permit an IEM student not learning the information linked to her study program to participate. Dr Feiby Ismail, M.Pd., the second resource, discussed the role of students in achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. According to her, every student must be able to complete the 17 sustainable development goals, such as eradicating poverty, ending hunger, and enhancing education quality.
In addition to The Bachelor of Islamic Education Management (IEM) Programme UIN Sunan Kalijaga students, The Bachelor of Islamic Education Management (IEM) Programme IAIN Manado students and instructors from outside UIN Sunan Kalijaga also participated in this guest lecture event. The chairman of HM-PS IEM UIN Sunan Kalijaga, brother Muhammad Ulil Abshor, and the head of the IEM UIN Sunan Kalijaga study program, Mr Dr Zainal Arifin, M.S.I., presented souvenirs to the two sources.
This guest lecture activity is also a continuation of the collaboration between the IEM Programme, the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, and IEM associations, namely PMPPI Indonesia, UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh, and IAIN Manado, as partner institutions for managing the IEM Programme. This public lecture concluded with a session of documenting and the communal reading of theHamdalah. Hopefully, this endeavour will be beneficial, amen.
