External Benchmarking to Indonesian University of Education

To prepare for the implementation of the "Freedom of Learning - Independent Campus (FLIC), the Bachelor of Islamic Education Management Programme (IEM) Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education (FTE) conducted external benchmarking at the Indonesian Education University (UPI) Bandung on March 28-30, 2022. This activity was carried out with the same other undergraduate programs in the FTE UIN Sunan Kalijaga environment, namely PAI, PBA, PIAUD, PGMI, P. Mat, P. Fis, and P. Kim study programs.
First, this activity was centred at the Faculty of Mathematics, and Natural Sciences Education (PMIPA), then continued to the Faculty of Education (FIP), Arabic Language Education (PBA) at the Faculty of Language and Literature Education (PBS), and Islamic Religious Education at the Faculty of Science Education. Social (PIPS).
In the "Forum Group Discussion (FGD)" activity, a lot of information can be obtained in the implementation of FLIC at UPI Bandung, namely (1) UPI has an FLIC driving team from university, faculty, and study program levels as well as special operators for the implementation of FLIC such as registration, course conversion , and so on, (2) core courses related to the profile of each study program are given in semesters 1-5 (104 credits), (3) each study program prepares courses to be converted into eight (8) MKBM activities as per the policy of the Ministry of Education and Research and Technology , especially elective courses, (4) there is a policy for students who can publish articles at least sinta 3 which can be converted to a thesis, (5) for students who get national champions can also be converted with several credits depending on the level of the championship, (6) each study program has done collaboration with several other campuses in joining lecturers with similar study programs, even many students have taken several courses at abroad, and so on.
The follow-up to this external benchmarking was the agreement between similar study programs in implementing FLIC, such as the UPI Education Administration Study Program, which could join lecturers with the Bachelor of Islamic Education Management Programme (IEM) Faculty of Tarbiyah and Education (FTE) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This collaboration will be even stronger if universities, namely UPI Bandung and UIN Sunan Kalijaga, make a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the implementation of FLIC and other associations that are reciprocal and mutually beneficial for the progress of their respective campuses.
